Giant Panda Breeding Base

Located just 10km away from downtown, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, is a non-profit research and breeding facility for giant pandas and other rare animals. The research base was created to imitate the natural habitat to provide the best environment for rearing and breeding of giant pandas. The base also cares for other rare and endangered wild animals such as the black-necked cranes and white storks.

Du Fu's Thatched Cottage

Du Fu’s Thatched Cottage is a 24-acre (97,000 m2) park and museum in honour of the Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu at the western outskirts of Chengdu, adjacent to the Huanhua Xi (Flower Rinsing Creek). In 1961 the Chinese government established Du Fu Cao Tang as a National Heritage site.

Wuhou Temple

Wuhou Temple is a famous historical site dedicated wuhou-cito the memory of both Liu Bei (161-223), Emperor of the Kingdom of Shu in the Three Kingdoms Period (220-280), and Zhuge Liang (181-234), Prime Minister of the kingdom.

The Dujiangyan Panda Base
At 09:00am you will be picked up from the hotel and start the day with a scenery ride to visit the famous Dujiangyan irrigation system in the morning.  Dujiangyan Irrigation System was originally constructed around 256 BC by the State of Qin as a water conservation and flood control project. It is the oldest and only surviving no-dam irrigation system in the world; and a wonder in the development of Chinese science.

After lunch, proceed to visit the Panda Base in the afternoon, and the arrangement of holding a baby panda for photo will be reserved in advanced for you.  The Dujiangyan Panda Base  is situated near Chengdu in China’s Sichuan province. It’s the world’s only center dedicated to giant panda care, disease prevention, and research. It is home to 170 of these much-respected national treasures. It’s a huge, sprawling site covering more than 500 square-meters and divided into separate zones dedicated to six different area of research and care. These include: rescue and quarantine, disease prevention and control, recovery and training, education, vegetation, and service.   

After sightseeing, return transfer back to your hotel.

Only 30 tourists are allowed to take close-up photos with pandas each day. The arrangement needs to be reserved at least one week in advance. And it is subject to the availability of pandas on that day.  Please note the photo program is totally dependable on the availability of the pandas on that day. We will double check on the booking one day in advance and inform you as soon as there is any unexpected change.

Jinsha Site Museum
Covering a total area of about 38,000 square meters (9 acres), it mainly consists of Relics Hall, Exhibition Hall, Cultural Heritage Protection Center and Ecological Garden. It considered a rare Chinese museums because of its combination of modern civilization and the civilization of ancient Shu State (Sichuan Province was called Shu State in ancient times), as well as the combination of ecological environment and culture.

Wang Jiang Pavilion Park
Located on the south bank of Jinjiang River, Chengdu, Wangjiang Pavalion (Wang Jiang Lou) Park is one of three famous cultural relics in Chengdu. 'Wang Jiang Lou' literally means 'River Watching Tower' in English. While Wuhou Temple honors the legendary minister of Shu, Zhuge Liang, and Du Fu Cottage honors the Sage of Poetry, River Watching Tower (Wangjiang Tower) is dedicated to a woman, Xue Tao, a poet in the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

Luodai Ancient Town
Luodai Ancient Town, known as the world’s largest town of Hakka, is 11 miles (18 kilometers) away from downtown Chengdu. There are more than 20,000 Hakka people settled in this town, making up nearly 90% of the local population. The Hakka refers to a kind of Han ethnic group, which is a large part of many south China cities. Long ago they migrated from their hometown to others parts of China, and even outside China. Luodai Ancient Town is famous for the Four Guild Halls (Guangdong Hall, Jiangxi Hall, Huguang Hall and Chuanbei Hall), the Hakka Museum and the Hakka Park.
