Karma Dan Songzanlin Monastery
Being the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan, Songzanlin Monastery, also known as Guihua Monastery, is one of the famous monasteries in the Kang region. It is located near Shangri -La County, at the foot of Foping Mountain. Construction of the monastery began in 1679 and was completed two years later. The monastery seems like a group of ancient castles and is composed of two lamaseries, Zhacang and Jikang. The gilded copper roof endows the monastery with strong Tibetan features and the 108 (an auspicious number in Buddhism) columns downstairs reflects the characteristics of Han nationality.

Potatso National Park
Patatso national park is located in Shangri-La County, Yunnan Province in the People's Republic of China. The park was announced on June 25, 2007, and is notable as the first national park in China to meet International Union for Conservation of Nature standards. It incorporates the Bita Lake Nature Reserve and the Duhu Scenic Area in the Hongshan region. As such they are part of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas World Heritage Site.

Dukezong Ancient Town
Dukezong Ancient Town is a 1300-year-old Tibetan town located in Shangri-La, which it has experienced both the flames of war and prosperity of frontier trade. Dukezong Old Town's authentic Tibetan dwellings, majestic prayer halls and pagodas, winding lanes offer sanctuary to all those seeking refuge from the bustle city. It is also the largest and the best preserved Tibetan city among China’s Tibetan counties. The city serves as an inspiration for British writer James Hilton’s 1933 novel titled “Lost Horizon.”

Yangtze River First Bay and Tiger Leaping George
The Yangtze river is the third longest river in the world, but the longest river within a single country. It has the highest source of any of the world's major rivers at over 5,000 m (16,000 ft) above sea level, on the border of Qinghai Province and Nagqu Prefecture, Tibet. The world's highest railway, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, passes only 100 km (60 miles) from the source. The first bay of the river is located in the Shangri-la county, southwest of China’s Yunnan province. Visit the Tiger Leaping George, which is one of the deepest georges in the world.
