This interesting full-day tour will begin at the rural yet world-famous floating market of Damnern Saduak, situated around 100 kilometres west of Bangkok. It is generally known as Klong Ton Khem Floating Market or Damnern Saduak Floating Market. Damnern Saduak has officially three floating markets. A narrow canal flanked with food stalls and souvenir shops forms the principal market. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit one of the world’s largest outdoor museums of over 300 acres. The Ancient City (or Muang Boran in Thai) displays over 100 replicas of Thailand’s famous authentic wooden villages, renowned temples and markets, following Thailand’s geographical outline all the way from southern to northern Thailand. The Ancient City also houses several ethnological displays of artefacts and antiques, such as rural arts, ancient tools, and hunting equipment, which are the evidence of the long-term survival of a native culture. Essence Of Bangkok - Canals Of Krung Thep (Private)
Your exploration of Bangkok’s cultural gems begins with a short drive from your hotel to the pier, this time swapping your car for a traditional Thai longtail boat! During journey cruise along a small waterway, called a klong, enjoy mesmerising views of local life along the banks en route to a riverside artisan village. This tucked-away village is built within wooden structures once a common sight throughout Bangkok’s klongs - most of which are now replaced by concrete buildings.

On land, set off on a guided wander to see the village’s collection of art, crafted by the talented locals living here. After some ample time to explore, hop back on your longtail boat and continue toward the Royal Barge Museum, home to a fascinating collection historical barges dating back centuries! These massive boats were once rowed by as many as 2000 rowers. The museum’s crown jewel is the Suphannahong Royal Barge, a behemoth 45-meter vessel built in 1911.

Back on the water, sit back and relax onboard your longtail boat and arrive soon at Wat Arun on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Known as the ‘Temple of Dawn’, Wat Arun is an icon of historic Bangkok, and boasts colourful spires and commanding views over the water. This marks the end of your journey, and your car will pick you up from here to return to your hotel.

Experience Rural Life Along Mahasawat Canal
Get out of the city and into the countryside with this half-day excursion along Mahasawat Canal in Nakhon Pathom. Situated around 60 kilometers from the city, this region is rich in agriculture; today you'll be seeing much of it from the water as you cruise along the narrow canal (or ‘klong’) in a long-tail boat. Pass by orchid and lotus flower farms, rice paddies, and traditional houses built on or next to the water.

This area is known as the ‘fruit belt’, and, as its name suggests, there is an abundance of crops hugging the sides of the waterways. Orchids are among the most noticeable, so look out for varieties such as cattleyas, vandas, dendrobiums, escosanda and pompadours. Off the boat, there’s time for a ride through one of the orchards on a specially-organised tractor ride, allowing you to get up close to the flowers and experience the local way of life. The unusual trip also takes you over rice paddies, and there’s chance to taste some of the produce grown here for yourself. The tour run either in the morning or afternoon and includes all tickets and hotel transfers.

*The pick-up time is 07.00 hrs.

Shortly after leaving the temple behind watch as the sun's golden light trickles over Bangkok's horizon and illuminates the glorious fountains of color on offer at the bustling flower market.
